{"id":312,"date":"2018-09-18T11:06:05","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T18:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pieneers.com\/blog\/?p=312"},"modified":"2018-12-18T11:09:24","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T19:09:24","slug":"creating-an-effective-flu-shot-is-still-long-way-to-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pieneers.com\/blog\/creating-an-effective-flu-shot-is-still-long-way-to-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating an effective flu shot is still long way to go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of us get a flu shot every season (you should get one, if you usually don\u2019t) and do you know it is <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/amp.timeinc.net\/fortune\/2018\/09\/29\/2018-how-effective-is-the-flu-shot\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not always 100% effective<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in preventing the flu? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might have heard about it, especially the season a couple of years ago, the shots weren\u2019t effective. The reason why it is the case is that there are always many strains that circulate and FDA picks 3\/4 most-likely-to-circulate strains in creating the vaccine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaccine development is a long process and starts months in advance from researching the possibilities, to picking the right ones and finally making it. So, unfortunately sometimes, the strains <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/flu\/about\/viruses\/change.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mutate while the vaccine is under development<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. FDA, CDC and WHO all do wonderful job of vaccine creation but the real puzzle still needs solving is improve the prediction of strains and mutations.
